With Soundscape, you can immerse yourself in your surroundings and navigate effortlessly. The app uses audio cues in 3D space that sound like they are coming from the direction of points of interest, parks, roads, and other features in your surroundings. This unique approach allows you to hear important information about your environment as you walk or drive.
One of the key features of Soundscape is the ability to track a specific point using an Audio Beacon. By placing an Audio Beacon on a point of interest, you can receive updates about its location relative to you. This feature is especially helpful for exploring unfamiliar areas or finding specific destinations.
Soundscape also offers a Street Preview feature which allows you to virtually "walk" down streets and roads. As you explore, you can hear what is around each location, helping you build a picture of a place before you visit it in person.
To enhance your experience with Soundscape, it is recommended to use a pair of stereo headphones that you feel comfortable wearing outdoors. Bone conduction headsets, Apple AirPods, and in-ear open headphones have proven to work well. The app is designed to live in the background and provide you with effortless ambient awareness, allowing you to use it in conjunction with other apps such as podcasts, audio books, email, and GPS navigation.
